On 6-9 September 2015 association “Cinerama” by the financial support of Abasha City Hall, and Georgian National Film Center (the partner – LTD “Aaplast”) held the Abasha First International Children and Youth Film Festival. The 180 short fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental amateur films (maximum duration – 10 minutes) were presented from 36 countries. The film festival jury – Giorgi Ovashvili (president of the jury, Georgia), Youriy Datchev (member, Bulgaria), and Anna Sajewicz (member, Poland).
The prize “Oqros Batibuti” (“Golden Popcorn”) had been awarded in seven nominations:
Best Idea – “7th Class” (Jordan)
Best Actress Girl – Lulu Stig (“See Ya, Dad”, Netherlands)
Best Actor Boy – Irakli Gugushvili (“Game Over”, Georgia)
Best Camera – Matas Petronis (“34”, Lithuania)
Best Script – Sesili Mzhavanadze (“The Portraits”, Georgia)
Best Directing – Liam Prenter Morris (“Gone-Zo”, Ireland)
Grand Prize for the Best Film – “Little Jerusalem” (fiction, dir. Monika Navickaite, Lithuania)
The participants of the festival were 32 children, youth, and their teachers from abroad (Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Croatia), Abashian children and youth, and other children and youth from the other cities (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Sighnaghi) of Georgia.

The 130 short fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental amateur films (maximum duration – 10 minutes) were presented from 37 countries. The film festival jury – Zaza Khalvashi (president of the jury, Georgia), Vejune Dudeniene (member, Lithuania), and Maris Prombergs (member, Latvia).

Best Directing – Boris Benjaminov (“Station Master”, Israel)
Grand Prize for the Best Film – “Modern Art I Can Do It” (documentary, dir. Eli Idsart, Netherlands)
The participants of the festival were 23 children, youth, and their teachers from abroad (Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Poland, Israel), Abashian children and youth, and other children and youth from the other cities (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Sachkhere) of Georgia.
On 13-16 October 2019 association “Cinerama” by the financial support of Abasha City Hall, The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Georgia, and Georgian National Film Center (the partners – Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgian State University, LTD “Aaplast”, and The Tbilisi International Children Film Festival “Oqros Pepela”) held the Abasha Third International Children and Youth Film Festival. The 132 short fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental amateur films (maximum duration – 10 minutes) were presented from 46 countries. The film festival jury – Revaz Makhatadze (president of the jury, Georgia), Liviu Doru Nitsescu (member, Romania), and Peter Muszatics (member, Hungary).
The prize “Oqros Batibuti” (“Golden Popcorn”) had been awarded in seven nominations:
Best Idea – “Neve Tzedek” (Israel)
Best Actress Girl – Anastasia Bakulina (“Love Lives in Eyes...”, Belarus)
Best Actor Boy – Gocha Miminoshvili (“The Horse”, Georgia)
Best Camera – Olivia Gdynia (“Inferno”, Poland)
Best Script – Svetlana Kosolapova (“Alight”, Ukraine)
Best Directing – the group of directors (“Other Side of the Door”, Japan)
Grand Prize for the Best Film – the group of directors (animation, “This is Still not a Pipe”, Belgium)
The participants of the festival were 35 children, youth, and their teachers from abroad (Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Poland, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, Netherlands), Abashian children and youth, and other children and youth from the other cities (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi) of Georgia.
Besides film screenings in the days of the festival, concerts, sports competitions, discotheques, and excursions are arranged.
