Who is interested in film education,
Who is interested in a film festival,
Who generally interested in film, in children and youth film, then your choice is right!
Georgia was always well-known by its high professional and high artistic filmmaking, the samples of which were awarded in various film festivals by various prestige prizes. These processes are continued today too.
Association “Cinerama” has a respectful little place in promoting the politics of non-academic, non-formal film education among the representatives of the future generations and organizing the international film events in Georgia.
Association implements two projects:
Summer Youth Film School
In two cities of Georgia – Abasha (2015-2018) and Kutaisi (2016-2017) were organized six film schools, where approximately 200 local children and youth had received the theoretical and practical trains. During this time they shot 20 short fiction, documentary, and animation amateur films, which were sent to the various international children and youth film festivals in the world. Some of them received honorable prizes. Association “Cinerama” formed tight friendly and professional relations with foreign film festivals and children and youth film studios.
The Abasha International Children and Youth Film Festival
This film festival was founded in 2017. It accepts the amateur films not only made by Georgian young filmmakers but made by the same age fellows from the many countries of the world. The duration of each film must be a maximum of 10 minutes. The prize of the festival is “Oqros Batibuti” (“Golden Popcorn”) which is awarded in seven nominations: Best Film, Best Directing, Best Camera, Best Script, Best Actress Girl, Best Actor Boy, Best Idea. The festival has an international jury (three members). In the festival days, Abasha has the guests – participants of the festival from the foreign countries and the other cities of Georgia.
